Homebrew applications require a device to be unlocked and most be sideloaded using a deployment tool. They range from being test applications that could be deployed to the Marketplace to applications designed to perform a restricted function, such as registry editors.

Below is a list of useful homebrew applications. If you would like your application listed, let us know on the Discussion tab.

Registry Editors

Registry editors allow controlling several internal settings on the Windows Phone operating system, including changing accent colors, tweaking lock timeouts, etc. All of these applications require interop unlock, and the level of access achieved depends on a device and application level.

File Explorers

File explorers allow exploring the internal file system structure on Windows Phone devices. They, like registry editors, require interop unlock, and may be restricted in reading/writing capabilities.
